Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Delta State chapter, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi,
has been accused of receiving N600 million from the incumbent governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to mobilize PFN for Sheriff Oborevwori, in the forthcoming Saturday’s election.
Oborevwori, is the governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) cum Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA).
Bishop Enakirerhi, who is the President, Heros of Faith Ministries International, has allegedly instructed PFN to vote for Oborevwori.
It was learnt that the alleged direction has divided the apex decision making body of the Church in the State.
It was alleged that Okowa, divided $100 each to PFN pastors and those at the Directorate of Politics and Governance (DPG), to sway votes for his (Okowa’s), candidate.
It was gathered that part of the money was for him to sing the praises of Okowa, amidst the huge sums of money borrowed by the State government.
It was reliably gathered that members revolted against the directive, describing it as illegal as their revolt against his alleged dictatorial leadership not to allow them vote their conscience fell on deaf ears.
Enakirerhi has collected the sum of N14 million from the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi.
In his message, when Gbagi, visited PFN/CPFN Secretariat on Tuesday November 13th 2022, at Orhokpokpor along Agbarho/Ughelli expressway as part of his efforts to seek the support of the church ahead of the general election, the International gospel preacher, who laced his sermon with scriptural passages, pointed out that when the righteous are in authority, the outcome is that the people rejoices.
“But when the wicked, the lawlessness, the ones that love money over their country. They try to take the money out of the country and keep it somewhere so that in eventuality, when there is trouble, they run and secure their family abroad (the wicked), are on the throne, the people mourn”.
According to him, King Solomon as we all know, is the wisest and richest president that has ever lived.
“His throne was established in fairness, justice and equity. He never fought any battle in his days, in his days the economy of Israel was more than any other economy in the world, his wisdom supercedes all the kings that ever lived.
“When the righteous; a man with a good heart, a man with the fear of God, a man who believes in accountability, a man that believe that there will be judgement. Heb. 9:28-29, ‘It is appointed unto a man once to die, after death, the judgement.
The PFN Leader, added: “the state is looking forward to righteous governor”.
Some leaders of PFN have called on leaders of various churches across the state, not to toe what they described as a “disgraceful path”.
Observers have wondered whether the Church in the State is part of the arrangement that has brought the State to her knees and the shameless state in Nigeria.
The Saturday March 11th election, would be a case of integrity test for the Church, particularly the leaders to prove their integrity and character at the poll.
