The governorship candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi has humbled his opponent the incumbent governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to secure victory in all the 11 Units in Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area of the State.
Okowa who allegedly sponsored the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP) Ken Pela, lost to Gbagi, who won his polling unit in Jeremi Ward II, Ughelli south local government area of the State, with a landslide defeat.
The SDP flag bearer, a Criminologist of repute, secured 98 votes, to defeat Okowa’s planted stooge, Pela, who got only 17 votes.
The LP flag bearer, was brought in to contest the election allegedly by the seating member of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Reuben Izeze, who introduced Pela to Okowa, in order to divide the votes in Gbagi’s country home.
In the result announced at the Polling Unit on Saturday 18th March 2023, Gbagi floored his closest challengers including Pela, who is presently handling a road project in Oginibo.
Gbagi cleared all the 11 units of Jeremi Ward II, all in Oginibo, the country home of the renowned industrialist cum philanthropist.
Some of the available results coming in, SDP scored 164, LP -16, APC 11, PDP 10.
In other Units, SDP, polled 125, 119, 146, while in Unit 15, Gbagi scored 148 respectively.
