Delta Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Sir Ahon, Honoured With Prestigious “Friend Of the Press” Award

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Delta State, Sir Festus Ahon, has received a prestigious Friend of the Press award from Inside-Out Limited, operators of Trend 100.9 FM, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to media relations and communication excellence.

The award, presented during the station’s 10th-anniversary celebration in Asaba on Sunday, honoured Sir Ahon’s unwavering commitment to promoting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. agenda and his remarkable efforts in amplifying the administration’s development strides across Delta State.

In a statement during the ceremony, the management of Trend 100.9 FM commended Sir Ahon’s professionalism and media-friendly disposition, noting that his consistent engagement with journalists and the public has greatly enhanced transparency and fostered a positive image of the Oborevwori administration.

Represented at the event by an Assistant Director of Information in the Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Ivovi Aruoriwo, the CPS expressed profound appreciation to the organizers for the recognition.

He also congratulated Trend 100.9 FM for a decade of impactful broadcasting and balanced reportage, describing the station as a leading voice in promoting public enlightenment and development-oriented journalism.

Sir Ahon dedicated the award to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, appreciating him for the opportunity to serve and for his visionary leadership that continues to inspire the state’s media engagement.

He further extended appreciation to members of the Government House Press Corps for their steadfast collaboration and support, which he described as instrumental to his success.

Other distinguished recipients of the awards included the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Ms. Orode Uduaghan; Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili; Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta; and veteran broadcaster and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Sports Development, Mr. Harrison Ocholor, among others.

The event, which attracted dignitaries from various sectors, celebrated a decade of excellence for Trend 100.9 FM, reaffirming its role as a trusted platform for credible information and public engagement in Delta State.
