Delta Governor Seeks Spiritual Solution To Insecurity

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has called for prayers to end the insecurity bedeviling the state.

The state governor made the call at the conclusion of the three-day fasting and prayer by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Delta State Chapter recently.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, commended CAN for organizing the special prayers for security and peaceful coexistence of Deltans.

Governor Okowa stated that the war against the enemies of the state, including fulani herdsmen, had already been won as the state had been dedicated in the hands of God
He urged all to remain prayerful and entertain no fear, affirming that God would not allow the state to fall into the hands of the enemies.

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ika, Bishop Godfrey Ekpenisi  in a sermon stated that no matter the situation, God would always make the difference as the state had been dedicated to God.

He assured the people that God would continue to fight for the state despite various challenges facing the state.

The wife of the state governor, Dame Edith Okowa, took the Bible reading from 2 Kings 19:1-20.

Among the dignitaries that attended the ceremony was the wife of the Deputy Governor of the state, Engr Mrs. Ebierin Otuaro.

The ceremony featured songs and praises as well as special prayers for the security men, men of God, churches, the governor and members of his family, and also for the government and residents of the state.
