Delta Government Issues Tough Deadline To All Tourism, Hospitality Operators

The Delta State Government has issued a decisive reminder to all operators in the tourism and hospitality industry, directing them to regularize their registration and clear all outstanding renewal fees for 2025 without further delay.

In a statement from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Commissioner Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh stressed that the directive is non-negotiable and applies to all categories of establishments, hotels, motels, guest houses, restaurants, fast food outlets, tour companies, travel agencies, amusement parks, gardens, nightclubs, and related businesses.

The ministry cautioned that operators who disregard the notice should be prepared to face stringent sanctions, including the possible sealing of premises, in line with existing state laws and regulatory provisions.

Dr. Ijeh reiterated the ministry’s expectation of full cooperation from operators, noting that the notice serves as an official reminder to update their registration with the Delta State Tourism Board.

According to the ministry, the enforcement drive is part of the state’s broader strategy to sanitize the tourism and hospitality sector, strengthen regulatory compliance, and ensure that all operators function within the legal framework established by the government.

Businesses are therefore advised to promptly visit the Delta State Tourism Board to complete their registration or renewal processes to avoid penalties and operational disruptions.
