Delta Government Denies Receiving FG’s Palliative

Delta State government said it has not received any palliative from the federal government, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, disclosed this during a Post Exco briefing in Asaba, the State capital.

Dr. Osuoza, on Wednesday August 14 2024, denied claims that the State government received 20 trucks of rice from the federal government.

It was alleged that the rice were rebagged but the Commissioner denied knowledge of such happening in the State.

Flanked by his counterparts in the ministry of Works, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Rural and Riverine Roads, Comrade Reuben Izeze, Highways and Urban Roads, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, ministry of Health, his higher education counterpart and Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Olorogun Sir Festus Ahon, the Commissioner revealed that the state governor decried the prevalent hardship in the country and directed the Commissioner for Agriculture and the Chief Job Creation Officer to bring up programmes that would cushion the effect of the hardship, especially on youths across the state.

Hear him: “For the 20 trailers of grains, nothing like that at all. As I speak to you, we have not received in Delta State and many other states for that matter”, he added.
