The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who doubles as the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly (NASS), has condole with the people of Ohoro over the unfortunate tanker explosion that claimed two lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira in Ughelli north local government area of Delta State.
A release on Thursday January 27th 2022, signed by the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Senate President, Aruviere Martin Eghargevwa, counted on the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to provide immediate succour for the victims.
“The attention of the Deputy President of the Senate, His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been drawn to today’s unfortunate gas explosion at Ohoror Town in Ughelli-North Local Government Area.
“Although there is no official investigation report yet on the incident, reports from our horrified people are to the extent that a gas tanker is involved in the mishap that claimed some lives and destroyed property.
“The Deputy President of the Senate expresses his deep sadness over the mishap and condoles with the families of the victims and all our people in Ohoror.
“He trusts the Delta State Government led by his brother, His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa to take appropriate internal measures to mitigate the immediate negative impacts of the horrific incident, whilst assuring everyone that he is already taking responsible steps on federal assistance that may be required in the circumstances”, the release added.
