The Delta Comrades Community has joined family members, friends, and political associates across Nigeria in celebrating the former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, on the occasion of his 71st birthday, describing him as a visionary leader, compassionate statesman, and rare benefactor whose legacy continues to impact lives and institutions across the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Asaba, the Leader of the Community, Comrade Ologe Elijah, extolled Dr. Uduaghan for his exceptional humility, generosity, and enduring commitment to human empowerment virtues that, he said, have transformed the lives of many within the Comrades Community and beyond.
Comrade Ologe, who is a former Chairman of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and former Executive Secretary of the Delta State Scholarship Board, noted that Dr. Uduaghan’s administration provided unprecedented opportunities for young Deltans to serve in government and develop leadership capacity.
“Through the benevolence and foresight of Dr. Uduaghan, many members of our community have risen to become Commissioners, lawmakers, senior civil servants, and top appointees at both state and national levels,” Ologe stated.
He added that the former governor’s strategic investments in education and human capital development laid a strong foundation for a new generation of leaders in Delta State.
According to him, the scholarships, mentorship programmes, and career advancement initiatives introduced during Uduaghan’s tenure remain among his most enduring achievements.
While extending warm felicitations on behalf of the Comrades Community and Uduaghan Beneficiaries Network, Ologe expressed heartfelt appreciation to the former governor for his unwavering love and commitment to the welfare of his people.
“We remain eternally grateful to our father and leader for his magnanimity and steadfast support over the years. We pray that God continues to bless him with sound health, renewed strength, and many more years in the service of humanity,” he said.
Dr. Uduaghan, a medical doctor and former Secretary to the State Government, served as Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
His administration is remembered for its focus on peacebuilding, empowerment, education, and infrastructure, which repositioned Delta on the path of stability and sustainable development.
As he turns 71, tributes continue to pour in from across the state, celebrating him as a mentor, statesman, and bridge-builder whose leadership, integrity, and compassion continue to inspire generations within and beyond the Delta Comrades Community.
