The Delta State Chairperson of Standup for Women Society (SWS) and Functioning Permanent Secretary in the Directorate of Orientation, Comrade (Mrs.) Stella Macaulay has commended the Founder and Grand Patron of Bashorun Askia Foundation (BAF), Bashorun Askia Ogeh for supporting Isoko women and aged persons with food items to celebrate the season.

She gave this commendation against the backdrop that the DESOPADEC Managing Director,  Ogeh had done so much to alleviate the plight of widows, women and the aged persons in Delta State,  especially in Isoko Nation.

Macaulay affirmed that the business man cum politician deserves accolades from all quarters for his sincerity of purpose, knowing well enough that widows and less privileged aged people would need more of assistance this period.

She prayed God to continue to bless Bashorun Askia Ogeh for his huge humanitarian supports and services to the less privileged in this season, maintaining that the distribution of food items to widows and women of all ages across Isoko Nation would have cost him so much resources to achieve.

According to Macaulay,  “We can’t thank Bashorun Askia Ogeh enough for all his numerous humanitarian supports to women. He is such a benefactor that women in Delta can never take for granted.

“Of course, he makes our job easier. We are a group standing up for women in all areas where they are facing challenges. While we are doing so much for women, we are also galvanising training and mentorship for the girl children. We carry out our functions collaborating with well meaning Nigerians, of which Bashorun Askia Ogeh is foremost.

“In appreciation for his selfless support to women, we singled him out among others to honour with an award during our State inauguration which held on the 28th October, 2021, in Asaba. We will continue to do more to appreciate him and tell the world how generous the DESOPADEC CEO is. We are truly and sincerely proud of him”, Macaulay posited.

Meanwhile,  information gathered from Isoko Nation has it that the BAF had commenced the distribution of food items – rice, beans, yam, plantain and others to various communities of Isoko Nation for onward presentation to the category of beneficiaries they are meant for.

It was gathered that the wife of the Chairman of BAF, Chief (Mrs) Grace Askia Ogeh flagged off the distribution at the Bashorun Askia Civic Centre at Uzere.

However,  this is an annual benevolence of the Foundation which has continued to receive commendations across Delta and beyond.
