… Urges Muslims To Pray For Good Governance
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State has felicitated with Muslims in Delta State and indeed all over Nigeria on the occasion of the Eid-el-kabir celebration, urging them to imbibe the true meaning of the season which is sacrifice and love just as the party urged all Muslims to pray for good governance and peace in state.
A press statement on Tuesday July 20th 2021, by the party’s Publicity Secretary, (Caretaker), Sylvester Imonina, Esq., threw stones on the state government’s empowerment programmes, describing it as “superficial and managed to favour only a privileged few”.
Hear him: “The prayer of all Muslims to Almighty Allah, the most merciful is very crucial at this critical point in our march towards a better Delta State. This is most needed in view of the glaring facts that those saddled with the responsibility of leading Deltans and providing them with dividends of democracy now only think of themselves, their family members and their political lackeys while leaving majority of Deltans to wallow in abject lack in the midst of plenty. Those who dare to expose corruption and graft in the state or speak truth to power are hounded, victimized and made to eat the bread of sorrow!
“The much touted Yagepreneur, Stepreneur, RSYA and other so called “programmes’ of the State Government are merely superficial and managed to favour only a privileged few. Majority of Deltans do not feel their impact because they are more or less engines of fraud!
“It is very unfortunate that most Deltans particularly those in rural areas do not know of the existence of those programmes. The shady way they are carried out to favour only some selected persons within their political circle leaves more to be desired!
“Delta State can only be a better place if God grants those in power the solomonic wisdom and vision to lead us aright. They no doubt need our prayers at this critical period in order to set them free from the demonic spirit of “omemiroro” (self-centredness) that has afflicted them.
“Once again, happy Eid-El-Kabir celebrations to all Muslims”, he added.
