Two stalwarts of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Wellington Oyibo and Chief Ese Uyovwiesevba, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)i n Delta State.
Chief Oyibo, was the former House of Assembly aspirant from Mosogar, Ethiope West State Constituency who lost to the former Commissioner for Environment, Chris Onogba, in the just concluded PDP primaries.
He was the founder of Oyovwire Political Forum and die-hard member of the Delta Political Vanguard (DPV), headed by Michael Diden, Delta south senatorial candidate of the party fondly called Ejele.
While Chief Uyovwiesevba, was the PDP Chairman of Sanubi Unit (Unit 20) and a notable grassroot politician and mobilizer of the PDP in Orogun, in Ughelli north local government area of the state.
In a telephone conversation with Rero TV, Chief Wellington Oyibo gave his reasons for decamping at such a crucial time in the political space.
“My porting is based on personal reasons. Yes I have moved to the APC but my reasons are personal and I would not like to disclose further”, he said.
Similarly, Chief Uyovwiesevba, said he left the PDP because he met well for Ughelli north and the entire State.
