Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, said the State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), would cease to exist in 2023, “What should gladen your hearts, is that PDP is dead in the state”.

The former minister made the assertion during his remarks while the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam who was flanked by members of the National Working Committee were receiving over 9, 000 defectors from PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC), who joined SDP on 25th June 2022, at Ugbolokposo, Uvwie local government area of the state.

The largest private investor in the state who is a founding father of the party, noted that the 2023 governorship election marks the end of the rule of PDP in the state.

“PDP is dead in Delta State. I founded the PDP between 1998/1999. I have remain there believing that they would change but I have come to realized that they want to leave you people like this forever. It has become a cult and if you don’t belong to this evil cult, you will never ever be recognized.

“So, the reason why I have joined the SDP is that we believe that with SDP, we will not have to resort to Okada as a way of life. The reason why we have come with SDP is because we will pay all pensioners whatever is due them because that is their labour and their wages”.

He called on the youths to partner with him, promising that he would solve the mirage of problems bedeviling the state, “we are here to receive you that are decamping to DSP from PDP and APC. When the campaigns start, we will separate the boys from the men. We will change Delta for greatness.

“You will see your money and what your money can do for you in this state. My plea to you is, go and get your PVC. If you don’t have PVC, you will remain the way you are but if you have PVC, then we can use the PVC to drive them away from Delta State”.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate, has urged Nigerians particularly Deltans to vote for the presidential candidate of the party, Prince Adebayo Adewole, who is from the south and reject any political marriage aimed at destroying the political calculation for north to produce president for eight years and then goes back to the south for another eight years.

“Vote Adewole for president. When we decided that we will be one Nigeria, we said North should rule for eight years and South will rule for eight years. North has ruled for eight years and that is Buhari.

“Power must come back to the south because if you allow power to return to the north and north the south, it means they are calling you a slave I will vote Adewole because he is from the south”, Gbagi declared.
