Delta State prominent gubernatorial aspirant and former minister of education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, has revealed that most of the aspirants gunning for the number one seat have dropped their aspirations.

“I am pleading for your prayers to succeed because 90% of those who indicated interest to contest Delta Governorship have dropped out of the race, but may be doing consultation to avoid shame”.

Gbagi, pointed out that the main purpose why they may still be doing consultation, is to avoid shame, adding that, in the actual sense, they had dropped out of the race.

Gbagi, a renowned criminologist and security expert stated this on Sunday September 19th 2021, during the meeting of Ughievwen Political Unity Forum, held at Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area of the state.

Hear him: “The next Delta State Governor, by His grace, would come from Oginibo in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area. So, I urge you all to work hard for it to come to reality. Talk to people in and outside the local government area and let them know the reason why it should come to us,” he added.

The well-known philanthropist expressed readiness to put in his best in ensuring that Ughievwen Kingdom is placed in an enviable path, describing God as a perfect being for making him a son of the soil.

The foremost entrepreneur said that the governorship was meant for those who were viable, unblemished and ready to serve, saying “Any meeting meant for the development of Ughievwen, I am ready for it”.

He enumerated some of the things he had done for the Ughievwen people to include giving scholarships to sons and daughters of the Ughievwen people in tertiary institutions across the country, attracting school to the community, building structures and bringing peace and unity to the kingdom through many ways.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ughievwen Political Unity Forum, Olorogun Edwin Obofukoro, said that the meeting was called to sensitise the people of the happenings in the polity.

He urged the people of Ughievwen to embrace the ongoing INEC voter’s card registration exercise meant for those who had attained 18 years and those who had issues with their cards.

He pointed out that the only Ughievwen son that had indicated interest so far to contest the governorship seat of Delta State in 2023 was Olorogun Gbagi and urged those present to support him.

He noted that if another Ughievwen son later indicated interest in the future, the elders would seat and take decision that would be favourable for the Ughievwen people.

He advised the Ughievwen people to reinvigorate the love and unity that helped the Late Chief James Mrakpor emerged Chairman of the defunct Ughelli Local Government Area for the 2023 governorship election.
