A group known as Integrity and Development Initiative, said the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, remains the best hand to pilot the affairs of the state come 2023.
The group after a stakeholders meeting on Tuesday July 19th 2022, in Asaba, said membership of the group are convinced that given the opportunity, Gbagi, would change the fortunes of the state and Deltans for good.
Coordinator of the group, Comrade Williams Okpako, said after weighing the various governorship candidates, the group came to conclusion that Gbagi, a renowned Criminologist would touch every part of the state with development.
While calling on Deltans to give their support to Gbagi whom he described as a deribalized Deltan, he said, “as a group we are confident that if Gbagi comes onboard as governor of the state, he will bring development across the state.
“If in his private life, he has investments spread across the state, country and the abroad, then the state will be a place to be, given the enormous resources that will be at his disposal from the federal government.
“As an industrialist, he has the goodwill, connection and contacts to attract investors to the State. He has the will to drive revenue generation. As a former minister, he will equally use the knowledge he garnered at the federal level to improve our school system.
“He has good plans for our teeming youths. Look at his youth emancipation programme, is second to none” just as he called on those yet to register for their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to do so as it is their power to decide who becomes the next governor of the state.
