…say SDP Is Incorruptible
Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, said his Deputy would come from Ndokwa nation, lamenting the political injustice the region has suffered.
Gbagi made the disclosure on Saturday July 9th 2023 at the Palace of His Royal Majesty (HRM) Uzeuku Isaac P. O. U Obi, the Oduosa of Utagba-Ugbe kingdom, Kwale in Ndokwa west local government area of the state.
“I know and I say it without mistakes that great political injustice have been melted out against the people of Ndokwa nation, I know the injustices that have been done here against this place and I am aware. And I break my silence to tell you that my Deputy Governor will come out of Ndokwa nation”.
Meanwhile, Gbagi, has emphasized that the most freest and fairest election in the country was won by MKO Abiola at the national and Olorogun Felix Ibru at the State levels with the platform of the Social Democratic Party.
“SDP was the party with which MKO Abiola, won the fairest and the best freest election in Nigeria, it was the SDP that Felix Ibru became governor of Delta State. SDP is not corruptible, the way Ibru ruled as a governor, he did not deep his hands in the purse of government for his personal interest because he has a good name.
“That again resonated as one of the best governors Delta state has ever produced for the period he was the governor.
“I am contesting the governorship of the state under the SDP, the platform that is blemishless. You need somebody with a business acumen as your governor who can turn things into reality. I know what I will do in Delta North alone that will give the state nothing less than N12 billion monthly”, Gbagi added.
In his response, High Chief Odas Onwan of Utagba-Ugbe, who spoke on behalf of the traditional ruler, appealed to Gbagi and other candidates not to make attempt promises to them as that has been the case.
The monarch used the opportunity to request for the citing of higher institution in their area to enable their children get quality education, “We are in dare need of higher institution, today there is no public water, all you see here are personal borehole water by individuals, when you get there don’t turn your back on us”, he pleaded.
