Leading governorship candidate in Delta State under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, FNIM has been described as a dependable voice for the people of Delta State come 2023.

Gbagi, a distinguished tutor, lawyer, Criminologist and an entrepreneur, got the accolades on Thursday September 1st 2022, at the Palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof. Chike Edozien, when he led a delegation in company of the presidential candidate of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo and other stalwarts of the party to the palace of the revered traditional ruler in Asaba, the State capital.

The monarch who was a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Pathology at the University College, Ibadan, said Gbagi, a former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, has worked so hard to bring lasting peace to the oil-rich State as a dependable voice for equity, justice and good governance in the state and Nigeria, at large.

The Asagba of Asaba, who has a groundbreaking research in nutrition, described the former minister of State for education as a Deltan who is deeply committed to development.

He said Gbagi, has the capacity to manage the resources of the people in their behalf as an investor who has done extremely well in his private businesses across the world without blemish.

“Gbagi, here, is our son. We have worked for years. We know him well and we trust him”, the monarch who was appointed a professor in 1961 and became the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in 1962, announced.

It is worthy to note that Prof. Edozien remains an important figure in modern-day Nigerian affairs as president Olusegun Obasanjo conferred the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic on him in 2003.

He also remains one of the most respected traditional rulers who encourage and promote mutual coexistence, an advocate of fairness and justice as it regards the 2023 governorship election in the state.

With these words coming from a renowned monarch, it is now left for Deltans to queue behind Gbagi, a one-time Chairman, Delta Development Property Authority (DDPA), who raked in over N800 million into the account of a dying agency with loads of debt in less than three weeks.
