The General Overseer and Senior Pastor of God’s Will Mission Inc., Archbishop Solomon Gbakara, has stated that Deltans need not to search for who takes over from the incumbent governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, rather they should queue behind the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, who is well connected to attract development to the State.
He said the State needs a tough man like the former minister of State for education, who would rather want his legacies and achievements to outlive him and preserved than have them destroyed.
Archbishop Gbakara who doubles as the chairman, Urhobo Christian Association, asserted that the largest private investor in the state, is a man of impeccable character with vision, intelligence, focus and a go-getter that would catapult Delta into an industrial hub.
The cleric made the statement during a Thanksgiving Service organized by the Christian Organization for Good Governance where over 3, 000 worshippers drawn from various denominations gathered and prayed for the realization of Gbagi’s governorship ambition come 2023.
He called on the Church and the generality of Deltans to do all within their powers to ensure that Gbagi, clinches victory at the 2023 governorship election.
Hear him: “Gbagi is a man that refused that what he has started should be destroyed and some people will say the man is tough, thank God we have a tough man.
“We have people like the Ibru organization, because they were not very tough, they finished the organization but there is a man that says so long as I am a life, what God has helped me to establish, no one can finish, that even after my demise, it cannot be finished.
“And I think Delta State needs such a man. The man who can preserve what he has started and to move on and again, there is a man that has a lot of connections that when he becomes the governor and a great leader that we are praying for him to be, he is not going to seek for a man who will hold his hands in search of people who will develop the State.
“But this man, God has given him the connection already that he knows where great investors are, he knows where to meet them, he knows what to say to them, he knows how to bring them and how to implement policies and programmes to make Delta State great.
“All men may not praise you but so long there is a genuine vision, goal and a focus that can change everything, we need to do whatever we can so that the whole place we be the best.
“Thanks be to God that we have found a man in this part of the world that is so articulate, focused, very intelligent and a man who hates bribery and corruption” he said.
