Concerned over increasing cases of social vices among youths, the Dein of Agbor, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Benjamin Ikenchukwu, Keagborekuzi 1, has called on youths to up their games and live a life full of moral values.
The First Class traditional ruler spoke at his palace when members of Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC), a Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council led by its Chairman, Kenneth Orusi, paid him a courtesy visit, on Monday 3rd July 2023.
The revered king asserted that the youths should raise the bar and look for ways to better their lives instead of taking sagging as a way life.
He spoke on the gross reduction of moral values in the society.
“Nobody is forcing you to wear your trouser below your waist and when you start running, you will be holding your trouser and be running.
“Tighten your belt and run very well. No girl wants a toy boy, she wants an adult that when she have children with, will be able to provide for the home.
“You cannot do that as a boy, you can only do that as a man. So we need to start taking responsibility for our actions”, he added.
Earlier, chairman of the Chapel, Orusi, who commended the monarch for his leadership prowess, called for constitutional roles for traditional rulers.
He recall the 1969 constitution which provide constitutional roles for kiñgs to take possession of their domain.
