The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, CP Aina Adesola, is actively progressing in his familiarization tour aimed at reinforcing operational synergy and community cooperation in policing efforts across the state.
On 27th January 2026, CP Adesola commenced this initiative with a visit to the Ogwashi Area Command, where he engaged with local stakeholders and the dedicated officers of the command.
Building on this momentum, he continued the tour on 29th January 2026 with a visit to the Agbor Area Command, fostering deeper connections with community partners and personnel.
During these visits, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and community members in addressing security challenges effectively.
He also took the opportunity to meet with notable traditional leaders within the Agbor region, including His Royal Majesty, Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi I, the Dein of Agbor; His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom; and the Obi of Umunede.
In an insightful dialogue, HRM Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu Keagborekuzi I described the Nigeria Police Force as the “lifeboat of the nation,” underscoring the need for unity and shared responsibility in safeguarding the community.
He advocated for enhanced police welfare and resources, pointing out the challenges officers face in fulfilling their duties.
Additionally, the Dein highlighted the growing issue of drug abuse in Agbor, calling for concerted efforts from both the police and community members to combat this pressing concern.
Similarly, HRM Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, OON, reinforced the narrative of collective responsibility in maintaining security, stating that community development is a shared endeavor.
He expressed confidence that with united efforts, the prevalent issues of drug-related crimes and other security threats could be effectively curbed.
In response to these discussions, CP Aina Adesola articulated his vision for policing, anchored on collaboration and communication.
He emphasized that local knowledge is essential for implementing effective policing strategies and encouraged residents to share timely and credible information with officers.
The Commissioner reiterated the Delta State Command’s commitment to inclusive and proactive community policing, positioning it as a cornerstone of achieving sustainable security outcomes in the state.
