Residents of the agrarian communities in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant step toward addressing years of infrastructural decay that have constrained movement, commerce, and local economic growth.
The road, a critical inter-community link, connects farmers, traders, students, and commuters to neighboring towns and provides access routes extending through Edo State to Abuja.
Its poor condition over the years, marked by potholes, erosion, and seasonal flooding, has posed serious mobility and safety challenges.
Motorists have long endured vehicle damage and delays, while farmers have struggled with transporting produce, leading to increased costs and post-harvest losses.
The commencement of construction is therefore being viewed as both an infrastructure upgrade and a much-needed economic boost for the area.
Stakeholders credit the progress to Senator Nwoko’s persistent engagement with relevant federal authorities, which ultimately secured the project’s approval through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
