The Director Genera (DG),l of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Mr. Charles Odii, has extended a gesture of goodwill to the people of Aniocha South Local Government Area in Delta State as part of the “Renewed Hope” agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the event, Mr. Odii distributed 27 bags of 25kg rice and 300 bags of 10kg rice to the 11 wards of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha South.
Additionally, he distributed another 200 bags of 10kg rice to constituents, bringing the total to 500 bags.
While addressing the constituents, Mr. Odii encouraged them to remain optimistic, noting that the president’s policies under the “Renewed Hope” mantra are steadily making progress.
He emphasized that these policies are essential for the nation’s growth and called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s efforts to create a better Nigeria.
Mr. Odii also addressed the challenges the country is facing, attributing them to the backlash of anti-corruption measures rather than failed policies.
He urged constituents to view these challenges as part of the fight against systemic corruption and remain steadfast in their hope for a brighter future.
Furthermore, he wished everyone a joyful holiday season, reminding them of the significance of Christmas and urging them to stay safe.
Receiving the rice donations on behalf of the party, Comrade Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudima, Chairman of Aniocha South LGA APC, expressed gratitude for the gesture during a ceremony at the Party Secretariat on December 25, 2024.
He praised the DG’s commitment to grassroots development and described the initiative as a sign of many positive things to come.
“In all honesty, this is a clear indication of hope being alive, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear president,” Sochukwudima stated. He further noted that the distribution of rice was well-organized, ensuring that many people left the venue happy and hopeful for the future.
Comrade Austin Utulu, the Youth Leader of Aniocha South APC, also lauded the initiative. “This is unprecedented,” he said.
“At least this time, the people will smile. Such gestures have never happened before, and we deeply appreciate it.”
The event was marked by an atmosphere of gratitude and optimism, with leaders and constituents alike expressing hope for more impactful developments in the coming months.
