The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, Pastor Victor Agbula Igbule, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, Okporua I, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, on the official presentation of the Staff of Office by the Delta State Government.
The colourful ceremony, held on Friday, November 7, 2025, was presided over by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, who formally presented the royal staff in recognition of His Majesty’s legitimate ascension to the ancient throne of Udu Kingdom.
In a goodwill message, Pastor Agbula described the event as a moment of pride and divine fulfilment for the Udu people, expressing confidence that the reign of Okporua I would usher in renewed peace, unity, and prosperity across the kingdom.
“On behalf of the Social Democratic Party family in Udu Local Government Area, I heartily felicitate with our revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, Okporua I.
“May your reign bring continued growth, stability, and blessings to our great Udu Kingdom,” Pastor Agbula said.
He further commended Governor Oborevwori for his administration’s respect for traditional institutions and for upholding the values of peace and inclusiveness in Delta State.
Pastor Agbula also called on all sons and daughters of Udu, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind the monarch in promoting the unity and progress of the kingdom.
Concluding his message, he invoked the traditional chant of solidarity and allegiance to the Udu throne:
“Uduovo! Uduovo!! Uduovo!!! Wo Su Tor!”
