Barely few hours after former presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, promised to open the can of worms on the true position of the crisis rocking the party, Vice presidential candidate of the party, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has appealed to his Rivers State counterpart on the need for genuine reconciliation on thorny issues rocking the party.

Mr Okowa disclosed this while speaking to journalists after a closed door meeting with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state at the Benue state government lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

He noted that the delay in meeting with Governor Wike was due to his trip abroad and now that he is back, the party and its presidential candidate would do all to reconcile issues with him.

On his part, Ortom said his advice on the need to appease the Rivers State Governor is the best way to go.

He said he is fully behind moves to reconcile with Wike for the overall interest of the party as all hands must be on deck ahead of the 2023 general elections.

It would be recall that Wike, vowed to respond fully to all the happenings in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) as it concerns Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate.

He said this on his arrival from the airport in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Meanwhile, Okowa has failed to carryout genuine reconciliation in the party in his State following the fallout of the governorship primaries that produced the sacked gubernatorial candidate of the party, Sheriff Oborevwori whom the arsenals of his government supported against others.

Despite the Federal High Court judgement sacking Oborevwori, Okowa, is hell bent supporting Oborevwori against the majority of Deltans particularly those from Delta Central Senatorial District and one of his predecessors, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, who is rooting for the former Commissioner of Finance and Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edebvie.

Also, a prominent chieftain of the party in the state, Chief (Dr.) Morrison Olori, has slammed the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu and the Vice Presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 Presidential Election, Okowa, for their open display of personal interest in the crisis rocking the governorship ticket of the party in the state.
