The former Director General, Delta State Orientation Bureau, Mr. Eugene Uzum, has reportedly resigned his membership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), in Delta State.
Uzum was first appointed into the administration of former governor Ifeanyi Okowa, as Special Adviser (SA), but protested the position before he was elevated to DG State Orientation Bureau.
The Bureau was under the ministry of information, but was carved out for Uzum, as settlement after he protested to register his grievances.
Uzum threw in the towel, after he was allegedly promised Commissionership slot in the Sheriff Oborevwori’s government but was allegedly turned down by Okowa who currently calls the shot in the present administration led by Oborevwori in the State.
He was equally denied same slot by the Okowa’s government after he worked tirelessly during the campaigns that brought Okowa as governor.
The straw that broke the Carmel’s back was when his slot in the present administration was again denied him for a close friend and associate.
It was alleged that he expressed his dissatisfaction over the way and manner he was treated under Okowa, with the friend who then blackmailed and backstabbed him.
It was gathered that part of Uzum’s annoyance was when the friend, placed him on call and recorded their conversation.
It was gathered that the recorded file was played before Okowa, who then yanked off his name from the Commissioner’s designate list and allotted same to the friend.
It was reliably learnt that Uzum has sent his resignation letter to his Ward Chairman.
Uzum, Amaechi Udemba, Jonathan Onwuka, are some earlier comers who worked with Okowa during his Senatorial sojourn.
They were those actually handling the media team before they were sidelined.
Equally, the trio, were equally benched as Special Advisers on Community Newspaper and Electronic while Okowa, was the State governor.
À source who spoke with the State PDP Chairman, Kingsley Esiso, quoted him to have said: “I heard it the way you heard it”.
