A Chieftain of the Labour Party and candidate of the party in the 2023 National Assembly elections, in Ika Federal Constituency, Chief Utomi Nwanne, has given his nod to the creation of Anioma State.
The Ika born politician noted that if created, Anioma State will promote freedom, efficiency, among other things that will be of immense benefits to the people of Anioma.
Utomi, who reacted to the ongoing debates on whether Anioma State should be created or not, stated that the agitations and struggles for the actualization of Anioma State should be wholeheartedly supported by every well meaning Anioma son or daughter as the benefits are enormous and permanent.
According to Utomi, “Recently, we have seen several debates on the proposal to the National Assembly for the creation of Anioma State. As a concerned and proud son of Anioma nation.
“I’m making an open appeal to our people both home and abroad to fully support every positive effort aimed at actualizing the creation of Anioma State.This appeal has become necessary because Anioma State will bring a lot to the table, respectively.
He noted, “Anioma State will fastrack development in our area, it will bring better job opportunities, better quality of work, easy management of financial and material resources, including the maximization of the energy/power sector.
He pointed out that if Anioma State is created there will be fewer regulations and less intervention in personal lives, thereby, allowing individuals greater autonomy and corresponding decrease in taxes.
He added, “A new State like Anioma will reduce bureaucracy and streamlining processes, which can lead to quicker decision-making, enhances economic growth as small government can foster an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation”.
The Labour Party leader concluded by saying that the effectiveness of a smaller government as it relates to Nigeria depends on the context and the specific needs of the population it serves. It will certainly promote freedom and efficiency”, Utomi declared.
