No fewer than six lawmakers otherwise known as councilors at the Legislative Arm of Isoko South local government area of Delta State, have been suspended.
They were suspended for alleged gross misconduct and breach of oath of office
They were suspended indefinitely on March 24th 2023 in an emergency sitting held at the Legislative Chamber presided over by the leader Rt Hon Arovah Othuke.
The affected lawmakers are Hon Wesley Erowo Igbudu, representing Oleh ward 1 and Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Ekere Afikioghene, Oleh ward 1 and Hon Silver Onuje Ewese Igbide ward 06.
Others includes Hon Precious Ejeke, Oleh ward 2, Hon Samson Ovunuwerodi, Okpolo/Enwhe ward and Hon Humphrey Odi , Irri ward 11.
The councilors were all purportedly involved in official breach of oath of office, gross misconduct and working against the interest of the government of Isoko south.
Their suspension is with immediate effect without salary and any form of benefits.
The general public has been placed on notice.
