The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has suffered another significant defection, as Hon. Somadina Anwasia, a prominent party figure and former Deputy Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, has officially resigned.
Effective from February 3, 2025, his resignation is in support of Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko’s campaign for the creation of Anioma State.
This latest departure comes just two days after Senator Ned Nwoko himself left the PDP, setting off a ripple effect as more stakeholders continue to exit in large numbers.
Hon. Anwasia has been a prominent force in Delta politics for nearly two decades.
He joined the PDP in 2007 following a long tenure in the Nigerian Army, and has since held various influential positions within the party and government.
