BREAKING NEWS: Our Detractors Are Threatened By Our Success — Hon. Okolie

The member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie, has said that his success story in the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly, is a threat to his detractors.

Hon. Okolie presented a compelling narrative on the interplay between achievement and criticism.

In a luncheon on Saturday January 11, 2024, with journalist at his Asaba residence, the State Capital, he contended that success, rather than being universally celebrated, often provokes hostility from those who perceive it as a threat to their standing or ambitions.

“Obviously, it’s coming from people who are threatened by our success. That’s the only way I can put it. Because if there were no threats, they wouldn’t bother to be running helter Skelter.

“So, I think, it’s even encouraging that people are talking. That means we are now being visible. They are now seeing the things we are doing.

“So if they say that we are claiming people’s projects, I thank them. So, let them go and report to the people who they are saying we are claiming their projects to come and see people who are claiming their projects.

“But I think that they just want to have something to say. Because everybody knows that I’ll be the last person to…

“I’ve been in government before. If I was in DLA, I did a lot of things. I didn’t even sing about it, people were singing my praises.

“So I don’t think that it’s now that I’ll now do one or two things that I will now sing about, things that are even obvious.

“In fact, they even say that I’m telling people to donate their property or something. So that I will claim it is their Constituency project. You can see how sick that is.

“How can you come to this house and say, Ah, please let me borrow it and show it as my constituency project.

After you take your house back. So I think it’s their level of knowledge or ignorance. But I pray that this one’s does not go too far.

“Because all this while we have been saying that we should let sleeping dogs lie but they are saying things that we will raise, that will raise a lot of questions in Aniocha/Oshimili which I don’t really want to go into”, the trail blazing federal lawmaker added.
