Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has dissolved the State Board of Internal Revenue.
The decision to dissolve the board was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Kingsley Emu, on 10th July 2023.
According to the statement, the Chairman is to handover all government properties in his possession to the most senior career officer in the board.
“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Deltans that the governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O Oborevwori, has approved the dissolution of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service with immediate effect.
“Accordingly, the Chairman and the members of the board are by this announcement directed to handover all government properties in their possession to the most senior career officer in the establishment”.
The governor thanked members of the board for their service to the State during their tenure.
Meanwhile, it could not be ascertained whether or not the former Chairman of the board who is currently the Deputy Governor of the State, Sir Monday Onyeme, resigned before the dissolution.
