In a strategic move to strengthen the healthcare monitoring framework in Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed Dr. Alexander Chidubem Awunor, founder and coordinator of the Anioma Medical Professionals Forum (AMPF), as Executive Assistant on Health Monitoring.
Dr. Awunor, a native of Idumu-Ogo and a practicing medical doctor at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba, played a pivotal role in the Governor’s election campaign as Head of the Medical Team for Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Before his formal involvement in the campaign council, Dr. Awunor had already demonstrated unwavering commitment to public health through the creation of the Sheriff Free Medicare Programme for All Deltans (SHEFMEPAD).
The initiative provided voluntary medical services to communities across Delta State in support of Oborevwori’s gubernatorial vision.
Reacting to his appointment, Dr. Awunor expressed deep gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the trust and opportunity.
He pledged to deliver diligently on his new responsibilities and ensure that the governor’s health-focused agenda is effectively executed.
He also extended appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders who supported and facilitated his appointment, emphasizing the importance of synergy between leadership and grassroots followers.
With this new role, Dr. Awunor reaffirms his dedication to both the healthcare sector and the People’s Democratic Party, promising to remain a loyal and impactful ambassador in the administration’s journey.
