Former Delta State governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, his political son and governorship aspirant of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun David Edevbie and others chieftains of the party have boycotted the inauguration ceremony of Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta State.
Also absent, is the daughter of Ibori and PDP House of Representatives-elect, Irhiatake Ibori-Suenu, and others in Ibori’s camp.
The Story, can authoritatively report that Ibori had settled for Edevbie, who was Okowa’s Commissioner for Finance and Chief of Staff, Government House as his preferred candidate, but Okowa, resisted it for Oborevwori.
Following the disagreement between the two, Ibori, his boys boycotted the inauguration.
Ibori’s cousin and former governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the March 18th 2023 election, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, were present.
The outgoing Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly (NASS), James Manager among others were at the event.
