The Delta Central Senatorial District Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally reaffirmed its unwavering support for the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing him as the sole gubernatorial candidate of the party for the 2027 Delta State governorship election.

The endorsement followed a strategic meeting held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Sapele, Delta State, chaired by the State Vice Chairman (Delta Central) and District Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki.

The meeting was attended by members of the APC State Executive Committee and local government chairmen from across the senatorial district.

Speaking shortly after the meeting, Chief Akpeki commended Governor Oborevwori’s performance since assuming office, describing his achievements as unprecedented and reflective of a strong commitment to good governance under his M.O.R.E. Agenda.

“After a thorough review of His Excellency’s performance across key sectors, ranging from infrastructure, human capital development, healthcare, education, to security, we unanimously reaffirm our total support for his leadership and declare him the sole candidate of the APC for the 2027 governorship race in Delta State,” Akpeki said.

He added that the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda (Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security) has restored public trust and brought renewed hope to the people of Delta State.

The committee urged all party faithful, stakeholders, and community leaders across Delta Central and beyond to align behind the governor’s leadership to ensure continued unity, stability, and accelerated development across the state.

In a firm message to party loyalists, the committee discouraged any internal opposition to Governor Oborevwori’s candidacy:

“We strongly advise all intending aspirants to set aside personal ambitions for now. What Delta State needs is continuity—leadership that consolidates gains and sustains progress.

“Any distractions at this point are not only unnecessary but could derail the momentum of development already underway.”

The committee further warned detractors and critics to desist from any actions aimed at undermining the governor’s efforts:

“We urge all detractors to drop their weapons of criticism and instead lend their support to the governor’s mission of building a better Delta State. He deserves our prayers, cooperation, and unity as he continues to implement his transformative agenda.”

The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, with attendees pledging their continued collaboration with him and the state party leadership to promote peace, good governance, and prosperity in Delta State.
