…say Okowa, Omo-Agege allegedly buying votes
Leading governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, has expressed confidence that his Party, would coast to victory with an unimaginable margin because of the campaign strategy adopted.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate demonstrated pleasure with the turnout of voters at the governorship election.
Olorogun Gbagi stated this on Saturday 18th 2023, in Oginibo, Ughelli South Local Government Area while addressing journalists shortly after casting his vote alongside his wife, Justice Sybil Gbagi, JCA, in Unit 15, Jeremi Ward II,at about 12:20pm.
He appraised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the early arrival of materials to the various polling units.
The former Minister for Education State enjoined the electoral umpire to use the governorship and House of Assembly election to amend the mistakes encountered during the presidential and National Assembly elections by ensuring results are transmitted electronically.
He said he would win the election with wide margin, free and fair without buying votes and snatching of ballot boxes.
Hear him: “I will win the election,free and fair without buying of votes, without stealing my ballot papers or racking them, victory is sure”, declaring that there’s no gubernatorial candidate in the race with him.
Meanwhile, he blasted PDP and APC over alleged electoral fraud, describing it as an embarrassment to democracy.
According to him, “The conducts of Okowa of the PDP and the APC, Ovie Omo-Agege, is an embarrassment to human being, we have seen where an entire area is been blocked by APC, disallowing people to vote.
“We have seen where PDP is paying N10, 000 cash against the electoral act at the voting and polling units. Okowa loaded all those cash and he’s paying everybody N10, 000 and APC is paying N5, 000 all of that is against the electoral act.
“But as you see, people who have no character will never have character. The election wi’ll find out, there are number of arrangements put in place by the electoral act to cater for all of those dead irresponsibilities.
“The BIVAS greatly has improved, I can tell you that. In some areas as much as 14 BIVAS machines were stolen across the entire state and then, ballot papers are being snatched, people are.
“Is a shame that at this point of our lives people have decided to be animals rather than being human beings but the electorates have decided and then they will go exactly the way they want it.
On security, he said: “I don’t see them doing anything wrong, the security agencies are there. I mean they are not the ones snatching the ballot boxes, they have no guns, they’re asked not to carry guns in occasions such as this, so that they can actually do not much, they’re helpless”.
On whether the exercise was peaceful, he said: “Don’t forget that, this is my community and in my community, I can personally make sure that there’s peace.
“You see, we’re all peaceful, we’re doing what we’re doing here but, I can tell you that, there’s a lot of contentions to come with regards to this election”, he noted.
