Youths in Warri have expressed disenchantment with the governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Sheriff Oborevwori, when they booed him for saying that “Delta State is a PDP State”, at the Catholic Diocese of Warri.
The incident happened during the “Annual Good Governance Lecture”, organized by Justice, Development and Peace Commission with the theme: “Democracy and Effective Systems: Contradictions of our current State and Pathway to our prosperity.
Oborevwori, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Ebenezer Okorodudu, got the disapproval of the youths who vented their anger on him over his inability to addressed issues raised by the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire and the keynote speaker, Prof. Jacob S. Oboreh.
The youths were displeased with the way Oborevwori’s Chief of Staff, said it was time for Osubi to produce the next governor as they have been marginalized over the years.
The event started well not until Okorodudu mounted the podium to weep sentiments, causing a rowdy session in the hall.
He said from a community chairman, Oborevwori became an appointee of government to the House of Assembly, Speaker and chairman of Conference of Speakers but the angry youths shouted him down before dropping the microphone.
