As preparation for the 10th edition of Ughelli Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving commences, the Chairman for the Planning Committee, Hon. Revd Benjamin Esemiteye JP has charged members of various sub-committees to be patient and committed to the task ahead for a hitch-free and successful ceremony.

Hon. Revd Esemiteye JP who spoke in a short exhortation during a meeting held at the Heroes of Faith Ministry, Ughelli, and reading from Matt. 4:18-22, said Jesus Christ selected his disciples from crops of men whose profession required patience and commitment.

The chairman noted that the likes of Apostle Peter, James and John who were professional fisherman knew what it took to fish all through the night, saying that the preaching of the gospel to win lost souls required patient and commitment.

He encouraged them not to despair in the face of so many challenges, but to press on, adding that nothing good comes easy and that in due course, they would reap if they faint not.

Similarly, in a letter signed on behalf of the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM (Dr) Wilson Oharisi III, by the Chairman, Hon. Revd Esemiteye (JP) and the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Revd Ejovwoke Azaka, it stated that the event was scheduled to hold on Saturday, 23rd October, 2021 at 10.00 am at the Ughelli Township Stadium while the Thanksgiving comes up on Sunday, 24th October, 2021 at the king’s Palace at 12 noon prompt.

It stated that the event was a collaborative effort geared towards releasing the kingdom from the grips of ancient evil covenants, curses and the negative effect of human sacrifices on the development of the Ughelli Kingdom.

It stated further that while the event would bring together inhabitants of the land, churches and corporate bodies, it would also feature praise and worship, faith building sermon, revocation of curses and evil covenants, and as well offers opportunity to declare peace, progress, prosperity and security upon the land.

It therefore enjoined Christians and sons and daughters of Ughelli Kingdom to support the program financial and also participate in the event for the good of the land, just as it added that Committee members would go round the 23 communities in Ughelli kingdom to pray for them before the event.
