Bayelsa HOS Visit to Delta To Understudy Public Service Reforms; An Indicator that Delta Public Service Is Faring Well Says Bayoko

The Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko has played host to his Bayelsa State counterpart, Mrs. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema who is on a tour of the State to understudy reforms in the public service.

Mr. Bayoko while receiving his Bayelsa State counterpart in his office on Tuesday in Asaba, the Delta State Capital, stated that the visit historic and an indicator that the state public service was dating very well.

He expressed optimism that the visit woukd.mark the beginning of a symbiotic relationship between both states public service even as he assured the visiting Bayelsa HOS who is a member of the National Institute (mni), that her research exercise would be fruitful and worthwhile.

Earlier, the Bayelsa State Head of Service, Mrs. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema, also a lawyer, in her remarks, disclosed that the Bayelsa State Government was desirous of reforming it’s public service, hence the visit to Delta State to understudy her reforms processes.

She said the essence was to enable her state replicate some of these reforms with a view to reposition the state public service for efficient and effective service delivery.

Accompanied by the Chairman of Bayelsa State Joint Negotiating Council, Mr. Olomo Dimie and the Director, Establishments and Industrial Relations, Dr. Hamilton Ekeke, she noted that the exercise was important considering the role of the public service which she said is the engine room of government.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of souvenir by the Delta HoS to his visiting counterpart.

On ground to receive the Bayelsa HoS were several Permanent Secretaries amongst whom were Sir Austin Oghoro, PS Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Augustina Onokpise.
