Aniagwu Felicitates Okowa At 66, Hails Him As a Mentor, Iconic Leader

Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, as he marks his 66th birthday.

Senator Okowa, who governed Delta State from 2015 to 2023 and served as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, clocked 66 on Monday, July 8, 2025.

In a personal tribute shared via his official Facebook page, Aniagwu described Senator Okowa as an exceptional leader, mentor, and father figure whose life and leadership continue to inspire and uplift many, including himself.

“Happy birthday to my wonderful leader and mentor!” Aniagwu wrote.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I wish you a fantastic year filled with happiness, fulfillment, and continued success.

“I remain forever grateful for the guidance, support, and inspiration you have consistently provided. Your leadership has left an indelible mark on my personal and professional journey.”

Aniagwu, who served as Chief Press Secretary and later Commissioner for Information under Senator Okowa’s administration, lauded the former governor for his outstanding service, sterling achievements, and enduring legacy in governance, leadership, and political development.

He noted that Senator Okowa’s humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to public good continue to serve as a beacon for the younger generation.

“Thank you for being such a great leader and mentor. Everything I have learned from you over the years has shaped my life and career in immeasurable ways,” he added.

Concluding his tribute, Aniagwu saluted the former governor with his popular chieftaincy title, Ekwueme, meaning “the one who speaks and stands by his word”, a reflection of the profound respect and admiration he holds for Okowa’s integrity and consistency.
