A public affairs analyst, Fred Akpewe, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands at the threshold of making a historic mark on Nigeria’s journey toward national unity, equity, and justice by supporting the creation of Anioma State.
In a statement released to the press, Akpewe said the endorsement and eventual creation of Anioma State would underscore President Tinubu’s long-held commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and nation-building.
“In Nigeria’s ever-evolving political landscape, legacies are not merely shaped by speeches and policies,” Akpewe noted. “They are defined by courageous actions that shape the future of generations.
“For President Tinubu, supporting the creation of Anioma State is a bold and transformative step that would inscribe his name into the annals of national progress.”
He described Anioma as a region endowed with rich cultural heritage, vast resources, and immense human capital, yet historically overlooked in discussions around state creation.
Despite its strategic relevance and contributions to the nation’s development, Akpewe emphasized that Anioma has remained marginalized within Nigeria’s federal framework.
“With growing national attention on restructuring and equitable representation, the call for Anioma State has become a symbol of long-overdue justice,” Akpewe said.
He commended President Tinubu’s reputation as a political strategist and advocate of federal restructuring, noting that his support for Anioma would not only correct long-standing imbalances in Delta State but also strengthen Nigeria’s democratic foundations.
“By endorsing Anioma State, President Tinubu would be demonstrating leadership that prioritizes national cohesion and addresses legitimate demands for self-determination and efficient governance,” he added.
According to Akpewe, the creation of Anioma State would resolve issues of political imbalance, enhance administrative efficiency, and empower the Anioma people to realize their full potential.
“More importantly,” he stressed, “it would set a powerful precedent for addressing other credible state creation demands across the country, further establishing President Tinubu as a responsive and reform-minded leader.”
