Visibly miffed youths in Adonte, an agrarian Community in Aniocha south local government area of Delta State, have chased away the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, from entry the community to campaign over alleged poor performance over the years.
Elumelu, who is representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly (NASS) under the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) narrowly escaped being mobbed by the youths, who barricaded the road leading to Adonte Community for his re-election for the forth time in office.
In a video, now going viral on social media, the Federal lawmaker, Elumelu, was booed and chased away from the community.
In the viral video, the youths were heard pouring invectives while asking the lawmaker and his entourage to go.
The youths, who resisted Elumelu and his entourage from gaining access into the community , were heard saying, “Elumelu should go”.
One of the irate youths who spoke in pigin English in the viral video, said: “I no want make them enter here.
“Ona go go, ona go go back, make them go. Elumelu should go back. No road, no water, no light”.
Another voice in the video said: “I say we no need am”.
According to the post, “Irate people of Adonte, an agrarian Community holed up in Aniocha South LGA, rise up against the HoR member, Hon Ndudi Elumelu seeking a fourth term without visible dividends of democracy to show for it.
“No road, no water, no light, no amenities in the localities in the 24 years of Delta PDP government”.
It would be recall that according to Punch of 7th December 2022, the Ward-to-Ward campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta North Senatorial District on Tuesday was prevented by angry youths of Oko Community who said the politicians only make fake political promises.
