In a profound display of humanity, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie, the distinguished representative of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has extended his arms and heart to Mrs. Patricia Idigbe, an elderly widow banished from her own home by the very children she once nurtured.
Accused of witchcraft and subjected to cruelty, she found herself abandoned, until fate intervened.
Mrs. Idigbe, a native of Umuagu, Asaba, Oshimili south local vovernment area, was left at the mercy of the streets.
But destiny had a different script. A concerned citizen, whose identity remains undisclosed, alerted human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Civil Society and Youth Mobilization, who brought her tragic story to light via social media.
It was through this digital outcry that luck smiled upon her.
Touched by her ordeal and driven by an unwavering commitment to his people, Hon. Okolie stepped in, not just as a benefactor, but as a son.
In an extraordinary act of kindness, he adopted Mrs. Idigbe as his mother, ensuring she would never be alone again.
Gwamnishu further revealed that the lawmaker promptly provided financial assistance to cover her medical expenses, ensuring her recovery and dignity were restored.
From rejection to redemption, Mrs. Idigbe’s story stands as a testament to the power of empathy and the impact of a single act of love.
