The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s bid for a second term in 2027 is firmly secured, describing it as “cast in stone” and backed by overwhelming grassroots and national support.

In a strongly worded statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the APC dismissed circulating rumours of internal discord and challenges to Oborevwori’s ambition as baseless fabrications by political spent forces struggling for relevance.

According to the party, Oborevwori’s integration into the APC was not only legitimate but also strategic, endorsed by both the national leadership and the Presidency.

His sweeping endorsement at the South-South APC Stakeholders Meeting in Benin City, along with support from various grassroots blocs across Delta State, underscores his popularity and acceptability within the party.

“The 2027 governorship ambition of Governor Oborevwori is not in doubt. It is gaining unstoppable momentum. The people are with him, and the party structure at all levels stands firmly behind him,” the statement read.

Responding to claims of internal party divisions, the APC described such allegations as laughable and hypocritical, especially coming from those who undermined the party during previous elections.

“Delta APC is not the personal estate of any individual. It is a people-owned platform, and the people have spoken, Oborevwori is their choice.”

The statement also criticized unnamed political actors allegedly sponsoring misinformation campaigns, accusing them of hiding behind media proxies to derail the will of the people.

“APC in Delta will not be blackmailed, manipulated, or stampeded into surrendering its 2027 ticket to failed politicians using ghost campaigns to stay afloat.”

Reaffirming the party’s unity and focus, the APC vowed to deliver a resounding victory in 2027, adding that Governor Oborevwori’s performance, popularity, and alignment with the people’s aspirations make his second term not only inevitable but irreversible.

“You can’t stop what you didn’t start,” the statement added. “Oborevwori’s ambition is powered by credibility, results, and the people, not rented narratives or recycled politicians.”
