2027: Delta Central APC Women Endorse Tinubu, Oborevwori As Consensus Candidates

Women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District have declared their unanimous support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing them as the party’s sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came during a strategic APC Women’s Unity Meeting held on Sunday at the Kingdom Hall in Ughelli.

The motion was moved by Mrs. Josephine Oduaran and seconded by former APC National Woman Leader, Hon. Stella Okotete. It was adopted by a unanimous voice vote chaired by Hon. Evelyn Oboro, a former member of the House of Representatives.

Hon. Okotete, who also serves as Executive Director, Business Development at NEXIM Bank, described the meeting as a landmark moment in mobilizing female political strength within the APC.

She stated that the women of Delta Central have resolved to back Tinubu and Oborevwori “without looking back,” and called for mass grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 polls.

“We are not here to campaign for positions,” Okotete said. “Our singular objective is to deliver total victory for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and every APC candidate in 2027.

The turnout here today is proof that Delta Central APC women are more united, stronger, and more determined than ever.”

She dismissed speculations about her political ambitions, affirming she will not be contesting any elective office, but would focus entirely on party victory.

Okotete also advocated for broader gender representation through the APC’s “twinning” system, where women can serve as deputies to men and vice versa, in both elective and appointive positions.

Highlighting the theme of unity and strength, Okotete said:

“Delta is now an APC state. We are confident that in 2027, President Tinubu will receive the highest number of votes from Delta. There is no serious opposition left and certainly no division in our party. We are one.”

Hon. Evelyn Oboro, speaking on behalf of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency delegates, lauded Governor Oborevwori’s performance, saying his achievements within two years justified his endorsement for a second term.

Chief Roseline Amioku, Chairman of the Delta State Civil Service Commission, called on women to ensure that their children of voting age are registered to boost the senatorial district’s voting power.

She reminded the audience that women make up the majority of voters and must now leverage that power for political advantage.

Also speaking, State APC Women Leader, Mrs. Tina Okwudili, praised the unity among women in the party, noting the increasing defection of former PDP members to the APC as evidence of growing public confidence.

Other notable attendees who addressed the gathering included State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu; Pioneer State Women Leader, Mrs. Janet Oyubu; Evangelist Ann Agoda; Mrs. Regina Edeki; and Mrs. Loveth Onojoserio, APC Delta Central Women Leader, who earlier welcomed the attendees and described the gathering as a show of force and solidarity.

The meeting was widely seen as a strategic positioning of the APC’s female bloc ahead of 2027, with leaders pledging loyalty, unity, and readiness to campaign across all electoral units in Delta Central.
