2023: I Will End Poverty In Delta State — Gbagi

Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate and largest private investor in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, FNIM, has said that he would address the issues of hunger and insecurity brought upon Deltans by the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), as governor come 2023.

Gbagi who visited traditional rulers separately to solicit for their support in the forthcoming governorship election, said the state needs someone with an entrepreneurial mind who knows what to do to return the state to glory.

He said Delta is in dire need of a leader who would unite the people and addressed the security and economic challenges facing the state.

“We are here for a serous business, to seek your support and discuss the need for the best person that has leadership capacity to rescue Delta from where we are”, Gbagi said.

According to him, unity is key to progress of the State, stressing that he would ensure accountability and also ensure that, security and the economy works.

“We have to revive the textile industries. The focus has to be not only relying on oil and ensure export earnings in non oil sector grows, so that jobs can be created for a lot of youths. But to do this, you need a governor that knows what it takes”, he reiterated.

The SDP governorship candidate lamented the endemic poverty and hunger among Deltans, saying when he becomes governor he would provide free education and create jobs.

“2023 is not a time to vote thieves, drivers and people with questionable character into power. We need a courageous man to lead Delta.

“There is hunger in the state. There is insecurity. I will make insecurity a thing of the past. So vote me into power and I will revive all ailing industries in the state. We must provide employment to the youths.

“This is the time you need a Deltan who is respected across the world. I am a son of the soil. I will fix Delta”, he assured.

At the palaces of Abe 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso, the Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Dr. (Ovie) R.L. Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Anthony William Ovrawah Omagha I, the Odion-Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom.

Other are His Royal Majesty (HRM), Elder Capt. (King) Dr. Joseph I. Timiyan (Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha kingdom), and the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien including the Delta Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum, Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum and Delta Central Traditional Rulers Forum, Gbagi, told them that each kingdom and local government area, has the potential of making N100 billion yearly.
