Notwithstanding the intrigues trailing the forthcoming general elections, there is need for Deltans to turn out en-mass to vote God-fearing leaders irrespective of political affiliation in Delta State.

With the recent happenings in the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), where the gubernatorial candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Sheriff Oborevwori and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ovie Omo-Agege, were invited by the dedicated and committed christian body, Deltans have no choice to yearn for credible and a God-fearing leader to manage their affairs.

The candidate of APC, Senator Omo-Agege, who is the Deputy President of the Senate and Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly (NASS), was the first to answer the call from the Christian body with a clause.

It was learnt that Omo-Agege, at the end of the event, bluntly refused to come over to the altar for prayers perhaps because of his father’s African Traditional Religion. He however donated N3 million to the body.

On Tuesday December 13th 2022, the incoming Governorship of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former minister of State for education, Olorogun Gbagi, stormed CPFN/PFN Secretariat at Orhokpokpor along Agbarho Ughelli expressway, where he was received with ovation.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the biggest employer of labour, assured Deltans that he has the capacity to fix the state from total collapse if elected governor.

He warned that the state would be in anarchy if CPFN and PFN allows someone who is not schooled and lacks entrepreneurial mind to rule over the State and if the current challenges are not addressed by 2023.

He stated that Delta needed a problem solver that could fix the state and not people whose characters are dented with mirage of crimes and criminalities.

He stressed that Deltans are looking forward to having somebody that could make the state productive and pull Deltans out of poverty.

The former Chairman, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria said: “Delta State where we are today belongs to all of us. Make no mistake, if the younger ones and others who ought to know refuses to know, the consequences are obvious.

“Delta state was better in all ramifications. Call it education, industry, employment. In everything, we were ahead. Anybody in Delta who gets anything, got it out of merit.

“Before now, we don’t have godfathers unlike the other states but because of our superior brain power, we rose to become first among equals in Nigeria.

“A good percentage of our wealth is invested in Delta State. I have just put in a factory of about N22. 4 billion on Warri/Sapele road that we are going to commission any moment from now, I will invite you people to come.

“I am happy that all of you here today one way or the other, you go to my property to trade in Robinson Gbagi Plaza. There is nobody who is contesting governorship in Delta State that has two per cent of the industries or businesses that I have done in Delta State, check your records.

“So, if a man says he wants to govern you and all that he has is a peep into your money, the money of Delta State, is for all of us, it is our money.

“I just believe that I know what to do, I just believe that I can fix Delta State. If 34 years ago, I built Robinson Gbagi Plaza on Deco Road, at that time I knew we had a problem, I will do it again.

“I take Ughelli north alone in my first year, Ughelli north will give me N60 billion in revenue as generated income to Delta State, were I to reestablish Score Lager Beer, Limca, Sparkling and many other industries that are dead today.

“Ughelli north is ripe to create a lot more industries. I will put a Floor Mill in Ughelli North. If my Floor Mill produces 4-5 million of Indomie packets and Spaghetti, I will sell to the whole country and African countries through my Warri ports and I will double in two years my income in Ughelli north. Local governments must be meant to look like State”, he added.

Gbagi, who donated a 40-bed fully equipped hospital and a church to the Catholic faith in Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area, did not leave the body of Christ without leaving an indelible mark and mouth watering tonic of N12 million in cash and kind for the body.

Highpoint of the town hall meeting with the renowned Criminologist, was a prayer session conveyed on the Sacred altar as the president of CPFN and PFN, Bishop Dr. Kingsley Enakirerhi, led hundreds of other church leaders and believers to pray for the election victory and God’s blessings on Olorogun Gbagi OON, the next governor of Delta State, come 2023.

Enakirerhi, who is the founder of Heros of Faith Bible Church, Ughelli charged Gbagi, to ensure he partner with the Church when he becomes governor of the state.

Bishop Enakirerhi, who doubles as the President, Ughelli Day of Prayers and Thanksgiving, said that
CPFN and PFN would be fully involved in Gbagi’s government.

Meanwhile, candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Sheriff Oborevwori, on Saturday December 17th 2022, equally appeared before the apex decision making body of the church.

It was reliably gathered that Oborevwori, did not address the gathering as he practically did not have anything to truly tell the body of Christ but made a pledge of N10 million to the group.

According to an insider source, when he (Oborevwori), was invited to come over to the alter for prayers, Oborevwori, equally declined.

No doubt, among the three gubernatorial candidates vying to take over the office of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Gbagi stands tall and have proven to be the only one with the fear of God, integrity and character with the technical know how to rule the state come 2023.
