200 Level Law Student May Abandon Studies Over Paucity Of Fund

A 200 level law student of Delta State University (DELSU), Oleh Campus, Mr. Amaechi Dumbili, may drop out of University studies following financial challenges.

Dumbili disclosed that his predicament started when the flood submerged his only source of earning, a plantain plantation in Abala-Obodo, Ndokwa east local government area of the state.

The second year law student, revealed that the plantation is what he uses to train himself in school and may be forced to abandon school due to the effect of the flood which destroyed his farmland.

Mr Dumbili, said he lost a large plantain farm which would have given him over N2 million profit if the flood was not as terrible.

Dumbili, who ventured into farming since 2016, explained that he has been training himself in school with the money he makes from farming, while disclosing that he may be forced to halt his studies as the flooding has left him with nothing.

According to him, plantain farmers are worst affected by the flood as plantain been a perennial farm crop can neither be harvested before or during the flood.

He pleaded for government assistance, noting that he has suffered financial hardship for three consecutive years on the account of flood.
