Gunmen who attacked First Bank of Nigeria, Unity bank and United Bank of Africa (UBA), have abandoned the cash stolen at Ubiaja, after youths from the area blocked the road.
It was gathered that the road by the rail line was barricaded which forced the robbers to abandon their cash ladden vehicles off the rail line and flee in motorcycles.
It was learnt that the vehicles and cash have been recovered and counting still ongoing at the Ubiaja police station, just as one person has been arrested.
In a video, a man suspected to be a customer disclosed that it was the second time he is surviving armed robbery attack in a bank.
“This is the second time I am surviving a robbery. In 2010 on the second of August and 2022 on 24th of February”.
It would be recall that four banks in Uromi, Edo state were robbed by armed robbers for several hours without any repel from security operatives.
The banks purportedly robbed include Zenith bank, First bank, Unity bank and UBA.
It was learnt that seven persons including a police officer were gun down in the robbery attack.
