The Delta state capital, Asaba, has been polluted with the blood from cult clashes which has claimed the lives of many in Asaba and its environs.
Between August 1st till date, no fewer than 20 youths have been killed in cult clash or reprisal attacks in brood daylight or sometimes in the night.
Another tragedy yesterday August 18th 2020, as two young men were allegedly murdered in cold blood.
It was gathered that the deceased who was simply identified as Nnamdi was murdered at Stop Abortion by Isieke junction in the late hours of yesterday.
The victim who is a staff of Oshimili south local government, was shot multiple times by unidentified men who highlighted from a vehicle causing people to scampered for safety as the assailants shot sporadically into the air to scare people away.
According to our source who requested anonymity, “I was inside my shop when I saw the man trying to board a motorcycle. Suddenly I saw two men who came out from a car, walked to him and shot him”.
Similarly, another identified man was murdered yesterday by unknown gunmen by 7:00pm opposite a popular church along Ibusa road, Asaba.
It has been gathered that the recent death toll which has increased within the Asaba metropolis has been identified to be repraisal attacks amongst two rival cult group.
When contacted Police Public Relation Officer DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident, saying she is only aware of the incident that happened at Stop Abortion Junction, Isieke Quarters.
She also revealed that three arrests has been made in relation to the cult killings as she noted that the Command is on a manhunt for fleeing suspects.
Meanwhile, a civil servant has killed his colleague in a bar over a yet to be disclosed reasons.
The incidence occurred at the old Secretariat housing the annex of the ministry of Information, fire service, state recruitment office of the military, among other agencies.
It was learnt that the deceased was drinking when his colleague came and stabbed him with broken bottles severally before he gave up the ghost.
In same vein, one Afam Francis Justified as his Facebook name was murdered today August 19th August 2020, by suspected cultists.
The ugly incidence happened at Limpopo bar at Summit Junction, area of Asaba.
It was gathered that his skull was destroyed by his assailants just as the policemen who came to pick his body to deposit at the motuary were looking for nylon to pack his shattered brain.
