THE STORY UPDATE: Joint Security Team Arrest Three Suspected Herdsmen

Barely 24 hours after Abraka and Ubiaroku farmers protested and barricaded the expressway over maiming, rape, killing and abduction of their girls, women and men, a joint security team comprising of the army, police, vigilante and youths curbed the bushes and apprehended some youths suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

It was gathered that the operation which was carried out on Saturday 27th March 2021, lasted for four hours with heavy exchange of gunfire between gun weilding killers herdsmen and security operatives yeilded results.

Investigation revealed that the chairman Ethiope east local government area, Rt. Hon. (Pharm.) Ofobrukueta Victor and his Ukwuani counterpart, Hon. Ajede Possible, in company of security operatives from different formations stormed the Abraka Reserve farmlands in search of killer herdsmen.

It was reliably learnt that after a careful search of the bush, hideouts of suspected killer herdsmen were located with the arrest of three suspects who have made useful confessional statements to the police.

Ho. Victor, commended the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, vigilantes and youths who came out in numbers to make today’s operation a success.

He appealed to locals to give useful information to the police as it would enable them carryout intelligence operation with ease.

“We will continue to fight against these notorious herdsmen till our farmlands becomes safe for my people. Security is everybody’s business, if you see something, Say something”, he assured.
