THE STORY: Motorcycle Operator Dies Trying To Avoid Delta Government Taskforce Officials

A yet to be identified middle age motorcycle operator, has met his untimely death While been chased by taskforce officials dispatched from the State Ministry of transportation.

The motorcycle operator also known as Okada, with registration number SAP422QO, left home only to be sent to his early grave by overzealous and reckless revenue agents of Delta State government.

Trouble started Monday along the Asaba-Benin expressway besides Oshimili south local government Secretariat while the deceased was purportedly given a hot chase by the taskforce officials for plying the expressway that is out of bound for the categories of transporters.

It was gathered that the deceased, an Hausa, but his state of origin is yet to be ascertained left his friends and kinsmen at the Hausa Market, when the taskforce officials went for him.

In his bid to avoid being arrested by the taskforce officials, he was smashed by a hit-and-run Jeep and got stocked under a moving tanker, according to an eyewitness account.

It was gathered that the tanker driver who escaped from jungle justice by angry mob reported himself at the B Divisional police station, Delta state Command. 

It was reliably learnt that the tanker with registration number: FGG420YQ has been taken to the station, together with the yet to be dispensed content. 

Sources said although the tanker driver tried all he could, to avoid any contact with the bike, however ended up smashing the motorcycle.

Immediately after the ugly incident, the taskforce officials disappeared into the air for fear of been attacked by irate youths who were present at the scene of the accident.

At press time, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the ministry, who confirmed the accident said he is yet to ascertain whether the taskforce officials were from the ministry but promised to get back to The Story, tomorrow for details.
