A yet to be identified trigger happy police officer has allegedly killed a youth identified as Gift, who was celebrating his birthday with friends in Obinomba, Ukwuani local government area of Delta State.
Trouble started on the eve of Friday September 24th 2921, as the birthday which turned soured was being celebrated at a Beer Parlour, leaving the community in tears.
A video circulating online by a Facebook group, Ukwuani Trumpet, wrote as follows: “Here are the bloodstains in the scene where the young boy by the name, Gift was allegedly killed a moment ago in Obinomba, Delta State by undisclosed Nigerian Police Officer.
“According to the information in our disposal, Gift was celebrating his birthday at a popular beer parlour in Obinomba before he was shot to death. We are yet to know the reason (s) why he was shot…

“The unarmed Gift was reportedly shot and killed by Nigerian Police Officer in a beer parlour in Obinomba. Details later”, Ukwuani Trumpet, posted.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, said: “I am not aware but I will find out”.
